About Axiostat
Axiostat is a newly introduced haemostatic dressing made entirely from chitosan, providing a highly effective barrier against severe bleeding.
Product Variants
Axiostat is available in three primary sizes: small, medium, and large. Additionally, there is a Military Grade variant with different packaging. A dental range, featuring small plugs for dental bleeding, is also available.
Usage Instructions
Axiostat dressings can be utilized either as wound-packing material or applied directly over the wound surface.
Opening and Application
Opening the packaging is straightforward; there are notches on either side for easy access. Once opened, remove the Axiostat dressing, which has a rigid structure suitable for packing into wounds or applying to smaller cuts.
To apply:
- Place the dressing directly over the wound.
- Cover with gauze and apply direct pressure for a few minutes.
Removal Process
When ready to remove the dressing, use water or sterile saline water to moisten it. Peel it off gently, and the bleeding should have ceased. This makes Axiostat suitable for medical procedures where temporary application is required.
